Who Am I?

To different people and in different parts of my life, I have been known by three distinct names: James, Jimmy, and Jido. Each represents a different side of my journey:

• James: The official side. The name on my passport, financial documents, tax forms, and professional business correspondence.
• Jimmy: The social and creative side. A term of endearment from work colleagues and friends. Jimmy is the guy who is out there living the dream, playing guitar, and enjoying life.
• Jido: The family side. This is the Arabic name for a grandfather, which is how my step-grandchildren address me. It represents my role as a guardian, looking out for their future and keeping these records for them.
